LessConf 3010—Conference of the Future

04/05/2010 in Business

I‘ve known of LessEverything for a little over a year. It’s run by a couple of guys who believe in simple effective software that should be a joy to use. I know Allan personally, and he’s a top-notch dude.

Anyway, LessEverything put on a pretty legendary conference last year (my friend Celia Dyder over at TechDrawl wrote about it) that I was unable to attend last year because of a last-minute scheduling conflict. I swore I wouldn’t miss the next one, and you better believe I’m looking forward to it.

LessConf is back, and it’s packed to the brim with speakers that I can’t wait to hear in person. I’m thrilled that the conference is coming to Atlanta this year, and I hope to see many of my friends attending. This is a big year for events in Atlanta, and LessConf 3010 might be the biggest thus far.

Check out the epic trailer:

Register before they sell out!—I’m not sure if even 100 tickets are left. All attendees get a copy of REWORK, and there will be a live Q/A with 37Signals founders Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson.

The conference is designed for marketers, nerds, ninjas, people suffering from leprosy, small animals, drug dealers, those recently laid off, and members of secret societies. Seriously.

Last year, the ColdFusion usergroup I’m a part of up here put on a free conference during the same weekend as the last LessConf. We decided to do the conference again, but earlier in the year. It’s the same weekend as LessConf 2010. I’m destined never to go to this conference.

LOL, I’ll ask Allan what he has against ColdFusion. He’s a Ruby guy, so you never know ;)

Hi Bucky!

You should ditch ColdFusion altogether. Any language that requires you to start each tag with <cf will eventually ruin your life. Switch to Rails and attend LessConf, I'll predict a happier more fulfilled life for you. ;)

10 LessConf Benefits –
1) Your mustache will become thicker
2) Your biceps will enlarge
3) You'll get to ride a dinosaur
4) Be able to throw a football 60 yard with a perfect spiral
5) Softer skin
6) Become a better dancer
7) Speak to animals
8) Uncontrollable Inspiration
9) Eat bacon filled pancakes with me on Saturday.
10) Watch someone get an atomic wedgie on stage, they'll win a year's free membership to http://ManPacks.com

Geez Allan, you don’t have to rub it in that I have to start every tag with <cf. My hands have become mangled nightmares since I started working with ColdFusion cause of all the greater than less than typing I've been doing. I'll ditch CF as soon as you can get me a job that pays me as well as CF ;)

But that is a nice benefits package (heh, package). I mean, let's not BS here, I'm already a fabulous dancer, and my biceps are as large as Willie Jackson's thighs, but I've never ridden a dinosaur before. This is intriguing.

This should have been a reply to Allan’s comment, but I’m fail at internets. I am disappoint.

Willie Jackson April 5, 2010 at 12:24 pm

I would just like to say for the record that Bucky has never verified the circumference of my thighs.

That is all. On-carry…

This is going to be an amazing conference if it is anything like last year’s in Jacksonville. Allan and Steve put on the best conference in ’09 that Jen Bonnett and I said we have ever attended. Awesome guys! Thanks for the mention, Willie.

Cheers Celia, I can’t wait for this one!
