My time working on The Domino Project altered the course of my life.
It was a pleasure and an honor working alongside one of my heroes, who I’m now happy to call a friend. Additionally, I made six great friends who I hope to remain in regular contact with for the rest of my life.
Following the end of our time with Domino (it was always a six month contract), I assisted with the launch of endmalariaday.com which gave me the opportunity to flex some of my server and performance optimization chops (the site did 35K+ pageviews on launch day).
And today, Seth recognized Alex, Ishita, and me on the Domino blog…which actually inspired this redesign (smile). The design was originally created by my good friend Chase Reeves who is growing weary of my open praise and thanks, but I don’t care. Chase is the man.
Just thought I’d dust off the old blog and share a bit of what’s going on.
What’s new with you?

Aloha Willie!
What an incredible experience (Domino Project)! Always thankful to you for sharing your knowledge, which in turns elevates my own server game. Since being inspired by your work/posts; I’ve revived some skills (Computer Science background) that I thought I had lost.
What’s new? ReadiPress.com.
We’ve moved our hosting platform back to the Rackspace Cloud Sites Platform. With a few high trafficked blogs, the “auto-scaling” really is a necessity. Our team no longer has to wake up in the middle of the night to double check the servers.
Plus, with their latest server enhancements (memcache & xcache), we are now improving page load speeds to less than 4 seconds. Not shabby.
Recently, we’ve added a security DNS Reverse proxy server by Incapsula to help fight off the bad guys – have to tell you it’s amazing! Things like the Timthumb exploit are now harmless…even if we don’t update to the latest version.
Well that’s it for now, see you on Twitter. Back to the latest trend, “Responsive Design”. Never ends, huh?
Take it easy bruddah – remember if you are ever out this way, we’ll have to get a cup of Kona.
Respectfully,
Anthony
Your comment was much more exciting than my post, Anthony! Thrilled to hear that business is going well.
DNS-level security is something most people “sleep on.” Thanks for the updates. See you on the Twitters :-D
Love the new site, Willie. But how to I get from the home page to the blog & back? Or is that intentional?
Thanks my man. It’s intentional inasmuch as the home page is designed to convert…and I did this redesign in one sitting :)
The next round of tweaks will bring the blog out of hiding, no worries.
