Whatever Works

I can’t help but wonder if I’m being coached covertly.

Pam Slim “is a seasoned coach and writer who helps frustrated employees in corporate jobs break out and start their own business.” She’s the author of Escape From Cubicle Nation (both the blog and the book) and has, over the course of this past year year or so, become a friend of mine.

It started with a tweet, turned into several purchases of her various information products (I jokingly confessed at her Atlanta workshop that I’d buy pretty much anything she put out…which was actually true…), and is now turning into even greater things:

Pam Slim, changing my life one tweet at a time

I’ve attended events that Pam has put on in the past, and she’s the real deal. To say that I’ve been absolutely overwhelmed with her generosity and support to me personally would be the understatement of the decade.

I’ve long since given up on figuring out why she sees fit to extend so much kindness, and instead shifted my energy towards what matters: living a life of passion and conviction while enabling others to do the same.

This post is just a quick thank you to someone who has stirred up a fire of greatness within me with which I will change the world. Thanks Pam.

Good times. More ahead.

I don’t know if there’s some dark magic in play or if there are Jedi mind tricks you’re using, Pam, but I’m thankful for it/them.

Whatever works.

Definitely Jedi mind tricks Willie, yeesh, you know I don’t dabble in black magic, at least in public.

I am kind to you because you are smart, talented, inspiring and full of heart. Plus, we all know you are the future President of the United States (with an awesome choice of First Lady — hold on to that Carmen!), so I am just being nice to you so you will appoint me “Chief Kicker of Corporate Bootie” in a few years.

More people should experience your superpowers. If I can help get the word out, I am just doing my job.

Our college speaking tour is going to be great. :)

Works for me :)

I have no interest in the Presidency; I long for a much more low-key existence. I suppose there’s no rush to turn down the opportunity though :-D Here we go!

It was so great to meet you at Pam’s ATL workshop, Willie. I immediately thought: this guy has “It.” All I can say is “dang, those are some lucky college students – Pam Slim WITH you!” Go for it!

Well hey there Dr. Foley!

It was a pleasure to meet you as well, and I love that many of us have remained connected through these various social channels. I appreciate the kind words.

There’s something about the message of liberation and freedom that resonates deeply within me; I can’t wait for it to spread like a fire on college campuses.
