WordPress 3.0 is out

Thanks for posting this Willie. It’s my first look inside 3.0. Like you, I’m a Thesis user but now I’m wondering if 3.0 doesn’t already have all that I need. I’m about to create a new website and I’m wondering if there’s any reason to stick with Thesis or just use WP 3.0. Thesis has awesome SEO and that wasn’t mentioned. What are your thoughts?

Hi Linda. WordPress 3.0 is a wonderful step forward for the platform, and I’m excited to see what people will do with the new tools and functionality. Despite its utility however, you must have a theme selected for your WordPress site. So WordPress 3.0 and Thesis are not mutually exclusive.

I suspect that you might be referring to twentyten, which is the new default theme in WordPress 3.0. I don’t think twentyten can hold a candle to Thesis on any metric, but I definitely think it’s a solid foundation upon which to build a simple website.

If I had a Thesis licence and was debating between Thesis and twentyten, I’d spring for Thesis 10 times out of 10 :)
